

Victor was born in Portugal and came to the United States as a teenager. He worked hard every day and
grew up to be a man of many trades. He moved to Kearny where he raised his family and began his
career as a truck driver. Following the end of his first marriage he met CarolAnn and they instantly fell in
love. They married in 1991 and moved to Piscataway where they built a beautiful home and life
together. Later in life they found the house of CarolAnn’s dreams and moved to Toms River. Shortly
after Carol died and Victor’s heart was broken. He never stopped missing her and spoke often about the
day they would be together forever.
Victor spent his time helping others and having fun. He loved to fix things. He was the go-to guy.
He got things done. He spent a lot of time in Florida. He loved to travel, take a cruise, bowled, fished,
played pickle ball, played bocce, danced and was famous for his garlic shrimp and sangria. His kind
soul will be missed by all who knew him.
Victor was predeceased by his wife CarolAnn Dean Vieira; his mother Laura Martins Marques and her husband Jose Marques, and his father Antonio Dias Vieira.
He is survived by his two sisters Nanette Marques Freitas and her husband Carlos and Mimi Marques
Aiman and husband Jim (deceased); two sons Anthony Vieira and his wife Cheryl and Philip Vieira and
His wife Evelyn; two step sons Jay Boettinger, Scott Boettinger and his wife Ann; his daughter in law
Dana Boettinger; his grandchildren Jay, Dylan and wife Lindsay, Lucas, Sam, Tristen, Gage, Michael;
great grandchildren Damien and Lilith; many cousins, nieces and nephews and his partner in life
Marlene Sonnenberrg who he loved and was by his side every day up to the moment of his last breath
holding his hand and attending to his every need.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday September 7, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Quinn-
Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at
2:00 pm. There will be refreshments available at the funeral home both before and
after Victor’s Celebration of Life Ceremony.
Victor will be laid to rest alongside Carolann at Resurrection Memorial Park in Piscataway at
a ceremony to be held in the near future.
