Godson, as we mark the first year (November 1, 2024) of your passing my hope is that we find comfort & strength in the cherished memories shared.

André we’ve been thinking of you all week.  As you know, your birthday always brings us fun memories.  Of course, you know we miss you but now, the sad times are starting to be replaced with the fun times and we shared so many of them.

My deepest condolences to Marcia and the family on Andre’s passing.
Andre was a lovely boy. When I came for a visit, he made me feel welcome, and showed genuine interest in our conversations. He was quiet, respectful, and engaged .
He surprised me by his reaction to our trips to Stratford. Who would expect a teenager to enjoy a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, or a play by Moliere? Hearing him chuckle during the performances made me smile.
He will be missed by those who came into contact with him.  I hope  our memories will help us keep him in our hearts.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of my dear cousin Andre.  Losing someone so young is heartbreaking beyond words, and my heart aches deeply for Linton, Marcia, and Cherise as you face this profound grief. Please know that our deepest condolences are with each of you in this time of sorrow.  I can only imagine the pain you’re feeling, and I wish I could ease it somehow. Remember that you're not alone in this.  We’re here for you in every way we can be, holding you close in our hearts and keeping you in our prayers.

May you find strength in each other and in the love of family and friends surrounding you.  Hold onto the beautiful memories and the joy Andre brought to so many lives; his spirit will live on in our hearts and minds forever.  As you grieve, we pray that you feel God's presence surrounding you, bringing peace and comfort when you need it most.

A great memory of André is the summer we had rented a cottage together (a month before his 16th birthday).  André had tried fishing for quite a while with no results.  Marcia thought that perhaps some fancier bait might work and gave him some shrimp to put on the hook.  Then a  very determined André went back to the river and tried again. Shortly after we (in the cottage) hear him yelling and ran down to see his catch.  He caught a nice "little" fish.  The smile on his face and the bling in his eyes was so special - to him it could have been a shark 😁.  Even if we weren't able to eat it, he was just ever so proud.  He did a great job!

From giggling at the kids table to highjacking  holiday speakers my dear cousin will be missed. I am so proud to share a birthday with such a loving person and will continue to celebrate for the both of us. I know that Andre is in a better place and am so blessed to have shared this earth with him. 

To Auntie Marcia, I pray your grief dissolves with each step you take. Strong women make strong children and Andre is the perfect example of that. One could only dream of having a mother as caring as you are.
