Beloved wife of Michael for 58 years. Loving mother to Susan (Charles Halasz) and Michelle (David Brady); proud Nonna to Sage, Amy, Eden and Daniel. Dear sister of Mary-Ann Ciprietti, Marguerite Rhydderch, Anthony Corrado (Maureen), Nick Corrado Jr. (Marife) and Michael Corrado (Elena). She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as she is reunited in eternal life with dear parents Nick and Nida Corrado.
Toni will be remembered for many things – her vivacious personality; her love of talking to people; her frequent photo sessions; her thrifty shopping sprees; having anything you need available in her basement; being a caring nurse, and her devotion and unconditional love for her family and friends.
A dedicated nurse throughout her life, Toni began her career at St. Joseph Hospital in Hamilton in 1966. Upon marrying Mike in 1968, the couple moved to the east coast of Canada for Mike’s job with Coke, and she continued nursing in Fredericton, NB, until the birth of her first daughter. They moved to Halifax briefly before heading west to Calgary, Alberta, where they started their next set of adventures, many of which were behind the wheel of Toni’s VW Westfalia camper.
They returned to Toronto in 1975, thrilled to be closer to family and to reconnect with old friends. They welcomed a second daughter in 1976 and established their next chapter, sharing important family milestones and increasing their circle of friends. Toni was an active volunteer at the girls’ schools; a member of the Good Shepherd Parish CWL and she volunteered with Meals on Wheels - North York, eventually becoming its main coordinator for several years.
For the past 22 years, Toni has delighted in her favourite role of all – being an amazing Nonna! She was known for having favourite treats stashed at home or in her giant purse; she had more toys at her house than they had at theirs, and she ran a renowned Nonna camp every summer. Her grandchildren will miss her very much.
Toni was happiest being with people. Whether it was spending time at a family gathering; attending reunions or special lunches with her Bishop Ryan and nursing classmates; getting together with her knitting group or just talking on the phone with a friend or relative.
The family would like to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses at North York General Hospital who provided her with exceptional care over the years – especially in her final hours.
Visitation is Wednesday August 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 6, 2026.
Both events will take place at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, North York, M2M 4K4 www.kanejerrettnorthyork.ca
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Toni’s name, to one of her favourite organizations:
• St. Vincent de Paul
• Good Shepherd Refuge
• Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
