 In a Silent (Cerebral) way, you were with us, Armed with your perpetual smile. Your Aura reflected life with no pretensions, taking each moment, the challenges sometimes bitter and sometimes sweet, in your stride, keeping your best foot forward (Rufus) Always dedicated to your passion hobby in the field of Electronics, later made it your profession, where you did achieve, with hard work and sacrifice, and silently made us proud.
Sure, at number Seven you were for the family a gift from Heaven, and with an over populated family of six, in precedence, pardon us, we were not wise enough to realise. 
 You asserted your presence, with your mutter, when you could barely utter at 3.
This at the Dining table, with a Taciturn Host and head Rufus (Father)With your child hood perception, of anything and everything you drew him to laughter Lunch or dinner, now was entertainment, to look forward to, with youthful appetites sans too much etiquette. 
One of your favorites was” Give me My long-sleeved pants “(for leggings in winter)
There were many arrows of, cutting edge wit and humor in your quiver always ready to deliver, your beloved Marika, friends, family and associates, enjoyed.
This talent, was your only way of communication, Keeping everyone at ease and the world hassle free.
 There were lots on your plate to offer, of life and living that is never too late that we should emulate, be it the Old or young. 
  You were, The Ultimate Ethereal Victim of Time and Destiny 
 The why’s how’s ifs will always reverberate down here with many.  
 The only solace and comfort for us now is of knowing that you are not “Knocking on Heavens Door” and that the Rite of passage is Yours In, the celestial abode in the comfort peace and joy, and Arms of the Lord.

I always loved talking to Bernie. He was so calm and easygoing, always ready with a funny comment. I have such great memories of us as young boys going to Gorai. We used to sit on the beach and talk all night, then wake up feeling so refreshed. It was magical to have the whole family there, and Bernie made that togetherness feel even more special.

Even when things were tough, Bernie never seemed rattled. Whenever I asked about his health, he’d just wave it off like it was nothing and say it would pass. He never wanted anyone to worry.

My heart goes out to the D’Silva and Romaeo families. Bernie was a truly kind person and someone who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was the quiet unassuming guy with a quick repartee  definitely not mischievous but  kind eyes. Alwayz considered him 'the sweet heart of the Dsilva Boyz ',amongst 3 brothers , Bernie being the youngest . As his older sisters in law Dinks and I used to raid his  room on the loft (really his private domain) to rummage and clean  and  discovered his passion for collecting gadgets of all sizes and whatnot.   We came to know then he loved fixing these gadgets .such was this  adolescent who built his dreams further

Very shocking to hear about Bernie .He was a kid when he was with us in Aurangabad. I remember Aunty Jennie calling out to him , still can hear her voice calling out his name . He was such a sweet child . He really left us too early .I can imagine what your family must be going through.

I pray to God to give the family strength to bear this loss . May his soul rest in peace.

I was shocked and very sad to hear of our dear Bernie passing away in such a tragic manner. Too early to leave us. Just can't get over it. Bernard was truly one-of-a-kind gem. Through thick-and-thin he was always in a good mood, and so happy and positive. His empathy for those around him was also second-to-none. He was one of the few true good souls that I had the fortune of meeting in my life, and while I am saddened that he is no longer with us, I believe he would want us all to smile and remain positive in life just as he had. My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends.

I have known Bernie for a very long time and though I didn't see him often, he always left a wonderful impression. He was such a loving and gentle soul. Looking back at my wedding photos and seeing him there reminded me of his kindness. He will be missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Bernie's passing. My heart reaches out to his wife, sisters, brothers n the entire family in this time of grief. Bernie will always be remembered for his kindness n his everlasting smile. Losing Bernie is unimaginable. May his soul rest in eternal peace n his memories  stay with us.

I had the good fortune of hanging out with Bernie when we were kids. I knew him through Carl-one of my best buddies and brother. Bernie, Baz, Carl and I had many a ‘sessions’ together. Boy oh boy, he sure could out-drink any one of us I recall he was physically very strong. What a real gem of a guy Bernie was. He will be fondly missed.
