Carmine Pascale, 85, passed away on May 25, 2026. Born on January 26, 1941, in Presenzano, Italy, Carmine built a life defined by steady dedication, open-handed generosity, and a quiet compassion that made him deeply beloved by those who had the good fortune to know him. A resident of Toronto, Ontario, he carried forward the values of home—work, family, and care for others—into everything he did.
In 1965, Carmine married his sweetheart, Maria, beginning a partnership that would span 60 years and remain at the heart of his life. In 1967, he arrived in Canada, embracing the promise of a new beginning with the same hard-working spirit that guided him throughout his years. He worked as a cement re-finisher, a trade that reflected his pride in honest labour and the satisfaction of doing things well, the kind of work that leaves something solid behind.
Carmine will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Maria; his daughter, Antonietta; his siblings, Frank (Rosetta) and Lina (Giulio); and by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Mario and Antonietta, and his brothers, Alessandro and Olindo.
Away from work, Carmine found joy in the simple, beautiful rituals of a life well lived—making wine, tending his garden, and taking special pride in his fig trees and his tomatoes. He also enjoyed making prosciutto, sharing the results of his time and care in ways that brought people together and made others feel welcomed and looked after. In these everyday passions, his generosity and warmth were always close at hand.
The family extends deep thanks to the team at Bayshore, his nurses, his PSWs Sunday, Saeed, and Solomon. Gratitude is also offered to Mackenzie Health, especially Dr. Rosenberg and nurses Kathleen and Vinette, for their care and support.
Carmine’s life stands as a reminder that love is often shown through constancy: through work done faithfully, family held close, and kindness given freely. He will be remembered with gratitude, and celebrated with enduring affection.
Visitation will be held at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street in North York on Tuesday June 2, 2026 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held the following day Wednesday June 3 , 2026 at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 92 Steeles Ave West in Thornhill at 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmine's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
