David was one of the most important people I knew throughout highschool. While dealing with depression, he helped me reconnect with nature and music, he lent me resources to deal with my ADHD, he was a friend I wish I had spent so much more time with. 

I will do my best to always remember him and to pay my respects. I only found out today he had passed due to wanting to reconnect with him. I watched the beautiful service and memorial video.

Our family cannot thank enough for the love shown by this kind family. Mike, Marissa, David, and Zoe opened their home and welcomed us whole heartedly when we moved to Canada even though we didn't even know their names.  (We got connected to their church by the relay of some friends while we were in the US, and they volunteered to host us, totally strangers, until we find an apartment for ourselves.) 

For us, David looked quieter but warm and kind. In a few conversation, we learned that he was very smart and interested in different cultures and new things.  He was always polite to us, and happy to play the piano for our small children. We are grateful that we could spend some more personal time even after we found a place for ourselves and moved out from their home.

We were utterly shocked by his sudden departure and grieve comes like a wave these days. We earnestly pray to God that He will bring comfort to this dear family and to those who know David.

We hold memories of David and Zoe that are very dear to us. When we were kids, we used to have sleep overs every Friday at their house,  David, Zoe, me and Raffy. Sometimes, our other good friends from church would also join, and we would have one big sleepover where we wake up late and our moms would prepare breakfast for us. I remember our bike riding adventures in the summer, the 4 of us. Since we lived in the same neighborhood, we would bike around almost everyday, exploring different areas of the neighborhood and then jumping in their pool for a swim. 

We loved biking to the DVD store at the plaza nearby, grabbing snacks and then heading home to put on the movies we bought/borrowed. This is only one of the many joyful memories that we all shared together as a family. David and Zoe will always be like a brother and a sister to us. 

David and his family are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. We are grateful for having these happy memories with David. He is a kind and loyal friend. We will miss him very much.

David was a dear cousin to John and me. We grew up together, had lots of sleepovers and bonded over music and tasty food. David was a light that went out too soon. He will be forever missed by our family and remembered as someone kind, gentle and soft spoken.

I remember walking or biking to his house down the street in elementary school with my elder sister or other church friends to play in the swimming pool or just hang around. In 2010 when I was in grade 6, we used to talk a lot about "quantum mechanics" (knowing nothing about the actual mathematics) or rudimentary metaphysical musings, these conversations spurring on my growing interest in science and eventually engineering; it was thanks to him that I knew about quarks and the Standard Model that early on. I also remember the sketchbook that he had and was interested in his perhaps surrealist inclinations. I also loved watching him play "MapleStory" and "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords". I also went on my very first roller coaster, "The Fly" at Canada's Wonderland, with him. I remember confusing his name with his sister's when I first met them at the age of five. And  the squeaking of their guinea pigs. He was cheerful, warm-hearted, adventurous, and exhibited a great curiosity for the mystical. Perhaps only now do I realize that in that time, even compared to my classmates and though more sparsely seen, he was much more a proper friend.

David is in our thoughts and hearts, may he rest for eternity in the embrace of God. Our deepest sympathies for your loss, there are no words that could do justice to how you must be feeling. We are here for you whatever you may need.  

We were saddened to learn of David’s passing. I can recall him show casing his drumming skills one time when we were over for a family dinner when our boys were small. He was quite talented. 

I was able to attend the service via livestream and Scott was in person. It was a beautiful service and evident that David was very, very loved. Please accept our sincerest condolences. Scott, Nathan, Spencer and I are thinking of you all at this difficult time. We are sending love and peace.

I remember the last time I saw David, we bumped into each other in the subway in 2019. We shared a hug and our best wishes to each other. I’ll never forget that memory. Growing up with David our families had sleepovers, picnics and trips. We had full of happy memories. This is a photo I took of David at Camp Shalom by the lake.

We know David since he was kid, he was such a wonderful  inquisitive & very  intelligent man. We'll  always remember traveling with him and visiting different places. I'm sure all his questions will be answered in the presence of the Lord. 
He will surely be missed. 


David had a curious mind. Combined with his considerable facility with ideas, we had many, many engaging conversations during our lunches. Although it was 7-15 years ago, I can still see his smile, his soft manner and insightful choices of words.
When David took an interest in the drums, I gave him a few lessons and told him how I learned to play, back before there was electricity. His father and I went to buy a set of drums he had his eye on. He took to it, put in the time and started jamming with other musicians. He loved it. 
But now, as I look back on those days, I am left saddened as this gentle soul leaves us far too soon.

 I can't remember a time when I didn't know the Harvey's. I grew up with David and Zoe and had the opportunity to have many wonderful childhood memories together. From trips to Niagara falls, PEl, Camp Shalom to countless visits to their family home and pool. I can’t find the words to say how sorry I am, and how much David will be missed.

I had the great experience of being David's piano teacher for several years.  He was always polite and respectful, and with perseverance, he worked to complete his Grade 8 piano examination with the Royal Conservatory of Music.   
One of the best things for a piano teacher to hear is that the student continues to play the piano after no longer taking lessons, and David's mother often told me that he still would enjoy music in that way.

At the same year,We have had a Baylon Clan family Reunion that was Dec.3,2006 a beautiful bonding between siblings n relatives.Unforgettable moments esp.for the kids.Most of the family members were there.
After that we are blessed to have a trip to Vigan city,Ilocos and Baguio city ...the kids were happy n adults too.
Wayback 2012 ,end of August to fast end of Sept....We visited the Harvey's in Scarborough,Toronto 
Then to New York City,Ellis Island and Niagara Falls.That was precious moments which we will never forget...
David always ask me ...Are you okay Tita?   Same to Dieter ...are you okay tito Dieter?just to mention it :Zoë has done d same...they cared so much for us.
We /I know him as a kind hearted teenager at that time.He plays piano for us ...musically gifted ,he plays also other instruments.He read the Holy Bible ofters..He is also artistic in his way.
As we were about to return home to Germany ,he wants to come with us .I said to him,David you look ,I have a full time job and not good in health conditions .Perhaps in the future ,How I wish we have made it.
 Dieter remembered one time .
We were in shopping malls in Toronto ,just to mention it , I was in VS lingerie store ,i was in fitting room ,Dieter said to David come with me ,will look for your tita ? David said ,I will not go inside ,repeat it again ,Dieter was laughing while David looks skeptic.

I was blessed with the opportunity to babysit David when he was a toddler. Tita Marissa and Tito Michael had to attend to some business matters during their stay here in the Philippines. Loved hugging and kissing him.
In 2006, our Baylon family were also blessed  to have a trip  to Ilocos and Baguio. David really had fun and  bonded with us, his cousins.
I remember that cold morning in Baguio, he was shirtless, flexing his arms  and kept on shouting in glee, "I'm a Canadian! I'm not cold!" That memory was forever in my children's hearts as well. His nephew Elijah and niece, Elisha.
How I wish we have done that one more time.
We love you David, we've missed you and will still be missed till the day we meet in the air. 

As he trod to God that day, so did he from his birth.  David is loved by his sister Zoe and parents Michael and Marissa who have a deeply felt faith.  A courageous, gentle and kind soul,  David is truly home now, with the Lord: "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
