Don will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a passion for music, sharing his wonderful singing voice with the Mendelssohn Choir. He had a lifelong love of exercise, particularly cycling. He enjoyed travelling the world with Mary-Ann, and was known for his ever-present sunny disposition, despite the many health challenges he faced in his later years. A lifelong learner, Don earned a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration and later returned to earn an honours degree in Psychology. Don was well respected in the business community and held Executive Positions with Eaton’s, Brown’s Linen and Polaroid. In this capacity, he travelled across North and Central America, Europe and Asia.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Cummer Lodge for their compassionate care and dedication to Don. The kind nursing staff and wonderful recreation staff enriched his final years.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 18, at 12:00pm, at St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church, with a reception to follow.
A private interment will be held by the family at a later date.
