

In 1969, Hae Jin married his dear wife, Soon Eui, in Korea. In 1976, he came to Canada, building a life marked by steady purpose and perseverance. He worked as a cabinet maker in Toronto before establishing his own business in London in 1981 —an achievement that reflected his hard-working spirit, resilience, and an honest pride in providing through diligent work.
Hae Jin was predeceased by his beloved wife Soon Eui, his son Sung-Mo, and his siblings Young-hee and Sang-jin. He is survived by his sons Sengkee (Linda), Joseph (Chalisa), and Steven (Mimi), and his grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Tyler, Nathan, and Ethan. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Young-ae, Myung-sook, Deuk-jin, and Myung-hee, along with a large extended family and many friends.
A loyal presence in the lives of those who knew him, Hae Jin will be remembered with affection and respect—beloved for the steadiness of his care, the straightforwardness of his character, and the quiet strength he carried through life’s joys and hardships.
In his leisure, Hae Jin found simple, lasting enjoyment in fishing and golfing, pursuits that suited his patient nature and appreciation for time spent outdoors.
He was also a devoted member of the Yumkwang Korean Presbyterian Church in Toronto and the London First Korean Presbyterian Church, where his faith and constancy were expressed through his consistent dedication, the support he extended to others, and commitment over the years.
Hae Jin’s life leaves a legacy of love, integrity, and endurance—one that will continue to be honoured in the hearts of all who mourn his passing.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 1, 2026 at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral home, 6191 Yonge Street in North York. Service will be held at 6 pm, followed by a reception. A service will also be held on Tuesday June 2, 2026 at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home at 9 am. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery 303 Riverside Drive in London. Reception will be held at the Mandarin Restaurant.
