Hans Juergen Naumann

Hans Naumann passed on July 23, 2026 at the age of 77. Hans was born in Leipzig, Germany, emigrated to Toronto with his parents and became a Canadian citizen in 1962.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Elaine MacRae, his sisters and brothers in-law, his many nieces and nephews (known to them as Hansy), his wonderful friends both in Toronto and on the lake – his most cherished place. He is reunited with his parents, his sisters and brothers in-law, and friends - can just hear the clink of glasses, the stories, the laughter.

Hans loved to laugh, have fun, and could talk to anyone he bumped into. He loved to tease his sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews but always with a great deal of love. Being an only child, he was, to say the least, overwhelmed when he first met the MacRae clan of Harrington (all 12 siblings!).

Hans spent his work life as a mould maker, building large plastic injection moulds for the automotive industry. He loved working with his hands and was very much the perfectionist – everything needed to be done right, no short cuts – so projects took some time, but he loved it.

His most peaceful and cherished times were spent by the lake, being outdoors sometimes for hours in the day, doing all kinds of odd jobs, then relaxing on the dock sharing stories with the brothers, or analyzing some project or other, watching the sun set. He was an avid Blue Jays fan; so disappointed when they fell a bit short of a World Series. He was competitive and loved his dice games with John, often playing well into the night determined to come out the winner.
