With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Irene Papadopoulos on Friday, December 19, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Soterios, a devoted and loving mother to Martha and Nick (Anne), and a cherished grandmother to Irene and Mark Soterios.
Irene will be remembered with love and deeply mourned by her extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her lifelong passion for learning and her dedication as an esteemed educator - following her graduation from the Faculty of Education at the University of Thessaloniki - left a lasting and meaningful impact within the Greek Community of Toronto.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family and community. Her life inspired all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene’s memory may be made to the UHN Foundation or The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. May her memory be eternal.
Friends may call at the Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St. south of Steeles Ave.) on Tuesday December 23, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday December 24th, 2025 at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, (3125 Bayview Ave. North York) at 10:30 am.
