He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Tina, his daughter Victoria, his mother Lorna, his sister Erin, his mother-in-law Misik (Kelly), his sister-in-law Lisa (Mike), along with his nephew Nolan and niece Claire. He will also be remembered with fondness by his extended family, colleagues, and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his father Paul Stone.
He spent most of his career in finance working for Canada Life. Jim was known for his love of technology, music (Karaoke), and food. He loved life and was focused on living life to the fullest, paying special attention to the details and the times that mattered the most.
Jim fought an 8 yearlong battle with cancer to be present in creating memories with his wife and young daughter. Some of his most treasured memories include feeding the pigeons with Victoria, trips to Canada’s Wonderland and Disney World, and time with his family during holidays.
The family would like to extend a special message of thanks for the compassionate care that Jim received at Toronto General Hospital, 13th Floor, Eaton Wing and Doctor Chen and staff, along with the Palliative Care Team, at Princess Margaret Hospital, and the countless medical staff at UHN.
A Celebration of Life service for James Paul Stone will take place Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00pm, in person and online at Armour Heights Presbyterian Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, North York, ON, with a reception to follow.
Street parking is available on Saunders Street, Wilson Avenue, and the surrounding neighbourhood side streets. Parking is also available at the nearby school, Armour Heights Public School.
If you are unable to attend the service in person or would like to join the service online, you are welcome to take in the service through an unlisted livestream link at 2:00pm on June 7. The recorded service will continue to be available through this link anytime afterwards. To obtain a link to the livestream service, please email [email protected].
In lieu of flowers, donations can be considered in Jim’s memory to the University Health Network or Princess Margaret Hospital. You can also carry his legacy by paying special notice to the beauty of life, the wind on a clear day, or birds and animals in natural spaces.
