Janice Evadny Delisser Friesen

Janice was born on July 15, 1956, in Trelawny, Jamaica, W.I., to Mary Richards and Fitzgerald Delisser. From the very beginning, she carried the strength and warmth of her big heart for people and shaped the woman she became.

She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Janisa Weekes; her cherished grandsons, Selah and Tefetro; her beloved mother, Mary; her loving sisters Mitzie, Sandy, Rosemarie, Sophia, and Megan; and her brother Henry. She is also remembered deeply by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, and extended family who formed the rich and beautiful circle of her life.

Janice was a faithful woman of God and an ordained minister of Overcomers Victorious Ministries. Her life was marked by service - she gave of herself generously, prayed fervently, loved deeply and stood firmly in her faith. Serving others was not simply something she did; it was who she was.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tony Friesen, whom she loved dearly.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service to follow. Interment will take place at Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst Street.

Followed by a repasse for family and friends at Edithvale Community Centre, 131 Finch Street West.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a cause close to Janice’s heart, continuing her legacy of faith, service and love.
