He leaves behind his sisters Pauline, Janet, and Maureen, as well as his brothers-in-law Gary and Barry. He is also survived by his son, Ken Shibasaki.
Joseph is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary Meehan, and his sister Patricia.
Joseph was a passionate sports fan, with a particular love for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. His enthusiasm for sports was well-known among his family and friends.
Joseph enjoyed the Catholic services at Langstaff Care, where his commitment and kindness were deeply appreciated.
The family extends their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Langstaff Square Community Care during Joseph's during the last phase of his life.
A private cremation has taken place.
