

Luz Martelle, born on December 8, 1947, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. She is lovingly remembered by her eldest son Jason and his wife Evie, along with her grandchildren Brittany and Tygon. She is also survived by her younger son Jeffrey, his wife Rachel, and their children Kai and Alessia.
Luz built a distinguished career in the construction industry, serving as Vice President of Finance. She was deeply committed to uplifting women in the trades and proudly served as the Toronto Chapter President of the Canadian Association of Women in Construction for two years.
A woman of deep compassion and service, Luz devoted herself to supporting education for underprivileged youth in the Philippines, her beloved homeland. As president of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Alumni Association, she helped provide scholarships to deserving students and inspired many through her dedication and generous spirit.
Known for her love of line dancing, both teaching and performing, her joy in travel and friendship, and friendly mah-jong games shared with dear friends, Luz brought warmth and energy wherever she went.
A Funeral Mass will be held on November 6 at 9:30 AM at St. Pascal Baylon Church in Thornhill, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Luz’s grace, kindness, and joyful spirit will always be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
