On November 21, 2018 at North York General Hospital, Margaret Bain passed away peacefully from Leukaemia. Predeceased by her husband David. Loving mother of Fiona (Paul), Jennifer (Paul), and Alastair (Karen). Proud grandmother of Shaun (Heather), Michael (Bonnie), Jessica (Joshua), Max, Alyson (Andrew), Kelly (Josh), and Lisa (Jonny). Delighted great grandmother of Eden. Cherished sister of Betty (Bill), Marion (John) and Aileen (Owen). Predeceased by her sisters Cathy and Mina, and by her brothers George, Ernest and Peter.
Margaret came to Canada in the mid 1960’s with her husband David and their three young children, eventually settling in Willowdale where she affectionately called home. After raising her three children, Margaret re-entered the workforce and found her passion as a product line manager at William E Coutts Hallmark Cards until her retirement in the early 90’s.
Since retirement, Margaret continued an active lifestyle which included travelling with family and friends around the world, Scottish Country Dancing, Tap Dancing in shows and competition, and bowling. Margaret loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter who are her pride and joy.
Margaret will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Friends may visit the Jerrett Funeral Homes - North York Chapel, 6191 Yonge Street, on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Additional parking across the street, at the Centerpoint Mall.
A celebration of life service will begin on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Jerrett Funeral Homes – North York Chapel, 6191 Yonge Street.
Special thanks to Dr. Grossman and the Palliative Care team at North York General Hospital for their care, compassion and quality of life during Margaret’s final days. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the North York General Hospital Freeman Centre for Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family.
