I first met Marilyn when we were both members of the Collingwood Parkinsons Support Group. Her energy, ideas and courage gave me hope for all our other members of the group. She loved to welcome us into our home and was one of the most sincere honest women I have ever met !!!  She was truly an inspiration.

Marilyn brought vision and insight to her work at the Ministry of Education. As a master educator, she was instrumental in the improvement of learning opportunities for secondary students across the province.  She was such a delight to work with!

And in adversity, such courage and dignity.

It was truly a privilege to have known and worked with Marilyn.

For a few years after university we shared many happy (some might say wild) week-ends with Marilyn and a gang of close friends in Ontario's cottage country. Saturday night was usually poker night. We were delighted to see from a previous entry that Marilyn apparently made this a life-time habit. Amazing. She has left us with happy memories.

I will miss my "Aunt" Marilyn very much. As long as I have known her, she embraced me as a part of her family and encouraged me in my hopes and dreams. She always wanted me to win and to look forward to bigger things to come. I remember many long chats about my future, and how she was always looking for away to help me get ahead. I loved her vey much! I will miss our fireside chats at mom and dad's, and the excitement in her voice whenever I shared good news. I will cherish her memory always. xox

Marilyn is well remembered as an active participant in the social functions of her condo residence.

I am very sad to hear of Marilyn's passing. I offer my sincere condolences to Marilyn's family.  She will be deeply missed.  Marilyn, Sandy, Joan & I shared an apartment for 2 years while at university at Western.  We had so much fun together as we all learned a little more about life and about playing bridge which became the highlight of dinner.  I have many fond memories of Marilyn and I will treasure them. Fred and I knew Marilyn as a fellow "Texas Hold'em Poker" player on Saturday nights at Lighthouse Point.  Those beautiful sparkling eyes and wonderful smile brightened up the room every time she played with us. Aunt Moon got it.  She knew how to live and what was important in life.  

I only personally interacted with her on a few occasions, but I will keep that spirit in my heart and mind.

There are so many things that I loved about you...as my dear Auntie I loved you long and well.  I thought for all this time, you made ME feel special.  Now, I realize that this is something you did for most everyone.  You didn't see "bad".  You had a way to see past it...seeing only the good in those you encountered and passing along  your beautiful words to all of us.  As I entered into newer and more difficult phases of my life, I held onto these words as treasures to be used when my heart was in sore need.  I love you Auntie Moon.  You are my hero...never complaining, smiling with your blue eyes and pink cheeks.

It is hard to believe that such vibrant lights are now out. I have not seen Marilyn for many many years as I moved west in 1973. For two years I  shared a flat with Janet, Joan-marie and Marilyn outside the gates at Western and what a time we had. Marilyn was so full of life and jumped in with great gusto to politics, bridge, classes, cooking and parties. She was fun when she acted out the days events and thoughtful when debating ideas. For those of us who were able to share in Marilyn's life, this is a very sad time. She had a deep connection to the beautiful waters of Georgian Bay and I feel blessed to have had so many wonderful times at her place in Collingwood - times filled with good cheer and so much laughter.
Her "backyard" that looked out onto the ever-changing waters, filled her with joy and peace every single day. Marilyn was with me when I snapped this sunset and its rich colours were like the colours of Marilyn's spirit - rich, vibrant, soulful, and very spiritual. Rest in peace my friend.
