To the Man family, 

Our families have been connected since our families first became immigrants to Canada. We connected by our origins of Barbados. What a beautiful island and what a beautiful history of memories we have collected over the years. 

Life gets busy and we haven't been able to see all the extended families much, but Michael & Pat Man were family to us. Uncle Mike would take us to his collection of photos and go through who everyone was and what you were each doing in life. 

No matter what we were discussing, his highest priority was his faith and he brought it into everything. He was a man of integrity. He believed in the truth of the Bible and walked in a close relationship with Jesus. He wanted this gift for all of us. We will deeply miss our 'Fantastic' Uncle Mike but we share his faith so we know we will meet again.

Dear Tony and Tim and your families, 
Condolences on your loss.  I’m so sorry that you’ve lost this wonderful man. He was so kind and caring.  My husband Jim and I enjoyed many good times with Michael.  
Lately Michael had much pain in his knees and shoulder.   He was looking forward to being with his Saviour.  He often quoted two lines from the chorus of “Finally Home”.   “Just think of stepping on shore —- and finding it Heaven!  Of touching a hand — and finding it GOD’s! “.   May GOD bless you. Tony, Tim, and your families and give you comfort in your loss.

There is no one in this world like Uncle Mike; such a special, unique man with lots of love to share around.  He has been an inspiration in our lives, sharing valuable eternal messages of hope to encourage us through life's many challenges.

We will always cherish the wonderful memories we have.   He was full of gratitude, saying he was "FANTASTIC", even with pain!

Uncle Mike, you are already truly missed but it's a joy to know you're now in the arms of Jesus, experiencing the abundant life promised to all of us who accept God's free gift of salvation.  See you soon - in God's perfect time!  Love you always.

Mike was lovely man and a wonderful host. I first met him in 1971 when I was 13. He and his boys along with  my pastor Wallace Marshall  were working in my neighbors garden.  It was brief encounter yet it was just the beginning.  Over the years they visited the Marshall's annually on their way south to Florida.  I got the know each member of the family since I hung out a lot with Marshalls.  Mike was sweet and funny. Pat was a spitfire, one of the things I admired about her.  I thought  their son, Trevor, was a lot like his mom, Pat.  I admired Tony and his wife, Diane.  Tim and I became pen pals  and we remained friends over the years attending each other's weddings.  I last spoke to Mike when Trevor passed away.  He called  me to thank me for the flowers I had sent.  We had not spoken in a few years and yet it was like yesterday. We talked for almost an hour.  We caught up on the family news, but that was Mike with his warm personality filled with kindness and love. 
Knowing all of the Man family has been a blessing. 
Losing Pat, Trevor, and now Mike hurts but I take great solace in knowing they love the Lord.  My prayer for each of the family member is that the Lord will send the Holy Spirit to wrap his loving arms around them giving peace, solace, and assurance during this difficult time.

I met Michael shortly after I entered Queen's College at the start of the school year in September, 1942.  QC at that time was one of the two Secondary ( High ) Schools  in Georgetown which accepted only boys as students.  On entry new students were usually placed in one of 2 Forms,  either " A " or " B " and I just happened to be placed in the same Form with Michael for the next 5 years
Michael was of quiet studious disposition and we became good friends over those years. I remember going over to the Man's home in Murray Street as it was then and playing games in that wonderful playing area found  under many Guyanese houses, " the Bottom House " 
          I spoke with him a few  weeks ago and was hoping to meet with him, maybe at his retirement home. Sadly it never happened. My deepest condolences go out to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

So sorry for the loss of your Father and Grandfather.  He was a much loved member of the family and will be missed. Thinking of you all.

We are so sorry for your loss. Your dad was always so kind and welcoming, and he never hesitated to take the time to talk with us whenever we saw him. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time and sending our heartfelt condolences.

My elder brother Michael was a gem. Being 3 years younger we were not particularly close as children and in our late teens we both moved from our home in Guyana- he to Barbados and Canada and I to the UK and our contact was infrequent. One of the benefits of modern technology is that in recent years we have been able to communicate regularly and to see each other- that has been delightful. All my life he has been someone to admire- his intellect, his honesty, his faithfulness are just  a few of the characteristics that made him stand out as someone to emulate. I am diminished and sad that he has moved on but delighted that he will be with Pat again.

I'm very sorry for your loss, but having known Mike for a number of years I know that he is now happy to be back in the arms and resting in heaven with his beloved Pat.
