Norma was beloved wife of Charlie Wright for 59 years, loving mother of David (Dori Germolec) and Kim Colwill (Scott), and proud grandmother of Iain (Cindy Cai), Myles (Marie Poilbout), and Glen. She was the dear sister of Sandra Fisher (the late Paul) and sister-in-law of the late Marie Cuthbert (the late Robert), the late George Wright, and the late Robin Wright (Kay). Norma's greatest joy was her family.
She met Charlie on a blind date arranged by coworkers while working in the stock brokerage industry. They married in 1958 and built a life together in Willowdale, Ontario, where they raised their family and created a lifetime of cherished memories.
An avid softball player, five-pin bowler, softball umpire, and lifelong card player, Norma embraced life with enthusiasm, kindness, and a generous spirit. She especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
In late 2022, Norma moved to Aurora, Ontario, where she enjoyed being closer to family. Her family is grateful to the caring staff of Chartwell Retirement Residences and Southlake Health for their compassion and support.
Norma's love, encouragement, and devotion to her family shaped generations and will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the values she shared, and the family she cherished above all else.
Donations in Norma's memory may be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, The Nature Conservancy of Canada, The Canadian Wildlife Federation, or a charity of your choice.
