Gillis, Patrick Duncan - Proud Cape BretonerPassed away on August 17, 2009 in his 86th year. Pat was a proud WWII Veteran of the Cape Breton Highlanders and member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 527, Wilson Heights. Pat leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years, Doris. He is survived by children Anne Clemens (John Lavis), Paddy (Juanita) and Mary (Mike Doucette). Papa will be missed by grandchildren Amy Rafuse (Brian), Sarah Gillis, Christine Clemens (Justin Ross), Andrew Gillis and John Paul Clemens. Cherished great-grampa of Autumn, Meadow and Tanner. Pat is also survived by his siblings Mary (John Conlon), Richie and Margie and many friends and relatives. Predeceased by siblings Joe and Danny and son-in-law Paul Clemens. Friends and family may visit Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street on Friday, August 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, August 22 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow. Burial of cremated remains at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
