

Born on Christmas Day, 1955, Rae lived his entire life in North York, near Bathurst and Finch — a neighbourhood he cherished and called home.
Rae was a devoted loving husband, a father who leaves behind his loving wife, Jane, and two wonderful sons: James Dylan and Joseph Nathaniel. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Annie, Deanna,and Randy, as well as many nieces, and nephews,extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
A hardworking man with a big heart, Rae spent his career in construction, working with heavy equipment — a job he often said felt like “playing in the sandbox with the big toys.” His work was not just a living but a joy and a source of pride.
Rae had a zest for life. He loved baseball and cheered passionately for the Toronto Blue Jays and although the Maple Leafs tested his patience, he never stopped rooting for them. He loved his music, it was one of his biggest joys.
He enjoyed cribbage, golfing , and traveling. Later in his life it turned to a passion for coin collecting and online cribbage.
Having explored the world in his younger years — from Africa and England to Japan — experiences that shaped his appreciation for life beyond possessions.
Above all, Rae was a true gentle man — kind, humble, and thoughtful. He had a soft spot for animals, a quick wit, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew him.
