Terence Flanagan

Terry, loving husband of Elizabeth. Predeceased by his first wife Eileen. Loving father to Desmond, Martin (deceased) Terri-Ann (Jim Snediker), Michael (Shirley), Jessica, and loving grandfather to Samantha Baxter-Flanagan, Sean Snediker, Danielle Merrill, Shannon Snediker, Jack Flanagan, Ben Snediker, Tommy Snediker, and Michael Flanagan.

Born in London, England Terry immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his mother (Winifred) and father (John), brother (John) and his favorite sister (Winifred).

Terry was diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer in October, 2016 taking his last trip with Elizabeth. They traveled across Canada by train and then took a cruise to Hawaii. He became ill during this trip and the diagnosis came shortly after.

Terry lived a life filled with many heartaches, heartaches many of us will never have to bear but he always managed to put the needs of others ahead of his own in that he was often referred as a “true gentleman”. He was thoughtful, honest, respectful, a good listener, and above all had patience and a backbone that, although never violent, never hesitated to rise to the occassion when necessary to protect his loved ones.

Terry especially loved to spend his days with family and friends at the lakehouse he built with Elizabeth. He looked forward to each summer when his grandchildren would fill the lake with their laughter.

His many hobbies and love of life included:

fishing and hunting with his buddies (you know who you are!)

his work shop

the outdoors

traveling

music

You could always find Terry because all you had to do was listen for his whistle or humming a tune.

Terry, Dad, Grandad, brother, and friend will be greatly missed.
