My deepest sympathies for the loss of your wife and mother Tomiye.  She will always be remembered as a very sweet friend of mine and will be sadly missed.

My deepest condolences to you Bob and to your two lovely daughters Sharon and Pam.  Toby was one of my dearest friends who I have known since I was 10 years old, spanning 76 years.  She was very generous, loyal, caring, thoughtful, and very giving.  In our teen years we went everywhere together.  Later our families shared vacations together at Washaga Beach, annual picnics, apple picking, and going fishing.    My family and I have such wonderful fond memories over the years which I will never forget.

Toby was so fortunate to have such a devoted husband like Bob to really look after her for the past 15 years every day.

Toby, my dear friend,  may you now rest in peace and join all your siblings and relatives up above.  We will miss you sooo much and we loved you dearly.

First, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Bob, and the family. Toby maybe gone but she will always be in the memories, and hearts, of myself and the girls. 

My friendship with Toby began in grade 5 at Duke of York. It continued through Central High School of Commence, and beyond.
Our group of friends grew over the years to eight strong.

We had many adventures through the years,  where she would do our hair. She was a natural at it, and always made us look good.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Bob and the girls and let them know that I am happy for Toby that she decided enough is enough. The last 15 years of Toby's life was not easy for her or Bob. Toby was so lucky that she had Bob in her life.  I did not visit her on a regular basis. but was so glad that Lily and I went to visit her a little while ago.  We both could see she was tired of fighting to stay on this earth. I have known Toby and Bob for almost 70 years. Toby I met in 2nd year of high school.  I transferred from another school and didn't know anyone.  Toby welcomed me and  also introduced me to her friends, and we all remained friends for over 70 years. I have to say I treasure those years of friendship with Bob and Toby.  I know how good Bob was to Toby, visiting her every day and making food to entice her to eat.
Bob it is now time for you to relax and get involved with things that you like to do.  Toby will be missed. God Bless you Bob and the girls.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Aunt Toby’s passing. Although it has been many years since we last saw each other, the fond memories of the times we spent together growing up have always stayed with me. Wasaga Beach, the annual picnics, the countless house visits.

She was such a warm and kind presence in my life, and I will always cherish those moments we shared.

Please know that you are all in my thoughts during this difficult time. May the love and memories you have of Aunt Toby bring you comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Dear Pam,

Just sharing my condolences once again to you and your family. Your mother sounded like the very strongest of women, and you are too. The death of a loved one is never easy. I will always be here for you. Sending you so much love.

Toby was an incredible woman and will be sorely missed. As a friend of Pam’s, I can attest that Toby’s strength of character continues on in her daughters. May we all cherish the happy memories and be inspired by her legacy.

Tobi and I walked to public school together in the 1950s, then took the street car for 4 years to Central High School of Commerce as we lived so close to each other. 

Then a group of us decided to have monthly meetings after a baby shower we had for Tobi, and we have continued with these meetings. Tobi was the one we came to when we wanted to remember something from our youth. She remembered all our grade school teachers' names  and high school teachers and friends.

As a friend of her daughter Pamela, I know that Tomiye was a devoted mother who guided her daughters to successful careers, and was a beloved member of her family. Although I never had the privilege of meeting her, I feel like I knew her because Pam spoke of her often. May she rest in peace.
