Alma Lorraine Lowrie Davis was born January 23rd, 1933 in Christine Texas, one of 14 children to Martha Knight Lowrie and John Alexander Lowrie. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William (Bill) Davis, their three daughters, Iris Davis, Ann Davis Bartnik and Andrea Davis Wilson and their respective spouses, Jon Deckard, Peter Bartnik and Jeff Lobaugh, as well as six grandchildren: Andrew, Will and Meg Bartnik, Jake and Zoe Wilson, and Coby Lobaugh. Ronnie Wilson has been like a son to Alma and Bill for years. Longtime caregiver Modou Kujabie became part of the family and has often been referred to as our "brother from another mother." Alma is also survived by 4 siblings who are all, amazingly, over the age of 80, with Dot Avant being nearly 91, Bill Lowrie 88, Lois Baldwin 83 and Jime Lowrie 80. A family with long and well lived lives.
Mom was a caregiver to everyone she knew. After raising three daughters, driving untold thousands of miles to and from piano lessons, twirling practice, band practice, cheerleading practice and lord knows what else, she moved on to taking care of every sick or elderly person she knew. She volunteered with PATH when they first began and later with Salvation Army. When she moved to Prestige Assisted Living center she would oftern walk the halls with a basket of candy on her walker, handing out treats to the other residents.
When, at age 83 Mom was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, we thought she had 6-8 months. Tough old bird that she was, she lasted nearly 2 1/2years. She will be missed greatly, but never forgotten.

A celebration of Mom's life will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 3rd, Visitation will be at 10AM with a service to follow at 11AM. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Davis, Jake and Ronnie Wilson, Andrew and Will Bartnik, and Coby Lobaugh.
