Barbara passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Tyler.
She was born on October 16, 1918 in Alexandria, Idaho to the late William N. and Lillian Bussey Nash. She came from a very large family and enjoyed the family gatherings as her home was the central place for the family. She liked to garden, dance to big band music, and cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, A. C. (Mike) Flynn; son, Billy Michael Flynn; brothers, Alvin N. Nash, James C. Nash, Bayne Nash and William Nash; sisters, Sara Jane Tomlin, Dorothy L. Causey, Sylvia May Herro and Lillian “Ruthie” Cornelson.
Barbara is survived by her son, Alvin Flynn and his wife Ruth, of Tyler; sisters, Mary Wynn of Tyler and Coleen Dorfman of Dallas; brother, Oliver Nash of Abilene; grandchildren, Adam, Bill, Rebecca, Amanda, and Matt and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a “firecracker” with red hair till the end. She was the consummate mother and grandmother. Mimi loved her grandkids and although they are all grown they still have their stories and memories of her such as driving in the turn lane because there was less traffic, giving them tons of presents at Christmas and making those famous Easter cupcakes.
