

Bobby Joe Puckett, 95 of Tyler, Texas passed away on Saturday July 12, 2025, at the age of 95. He was born November 12, 1929, in Corsicana, Texas. He had various jobs early in his life from delivering newspapers, breaking horses, managing a restaurant, and working on the pipeline in Kansas. He also served four years as an AP (Air Police) in the US Air Force during the Korean War. His final job was as a technician for AT&T in Tyler, Texas. After a long career with AT&T, he retired in 1986 at the age of 56.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Clifford Puckett; mother, Abbie Lena Puckett; brother, J C Puckett; sister, Norma Mae (Puckett) Barron; brother, Preston Allen Puckett, and his wife of 66 years Francis “Vernelle” Puckett. He is survived by his brother, Johnny Travis Puckett; son, David Wayne Puckett, daughter-in-law, Donna Rozelle Puckett, and two grandchildren, Dalton Wayne Puckett and Danielle Nicole Puckett.
Bobby was truly blessed during his 39 years of retirement where he enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting and fishing, walking around his neighborhood, watching his grandchildren grow up, and telling stories of all he had seen and done during his life. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone he met. The family would like to thank the staff of CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital and The Center at Grande for their care and compassion during his final weeks.
Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside services at the Cathedral In The Pines Memorial Gardens at 7825 South Broadway in Tyler, Texas on Tuesday July 22nd at 10:00 am.
