Doyle Allan Welch

Funeral Services for Doyle Allan Welch, age 65 of Tyler, will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Welch, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, August 23rd from 5-7 p.m. He will be buried at Center Cemetery.

Allan died Tuesday, August 20 in a Tyler Hospital. He was born February 16, 1959 in Tyler to Travis and Martha Gaiser Welch. Allan graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1978 and has lived in the Chapel Hill and Tyler areas all of his life. He worked for Goodwill Industries for a short time before starting an over 40 year career with Tyler Golfcart and, at one time, was a member of the Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Growing up Allan was known as Big Al by all the neighborhood, not because of his stature but because of his big heart and kindness to everyone. He is preceded in death by his father, Travis Drew Welch and Brother, Russell “Rusty” Welch.

Allan is survived by mother, Martha Sue Welch of Tyler; brother, Steve Welch and wife, Shelly of Whitehouse; sister, Dyane Garner and husband, Doug of Tyler; nephew, Dr. Stephen Welch, Jr. and wife, Heather of Bullard; niece, Stephanie Welch Beall and husband, Trey of Bullard; great-nephews and nieces, Lily, Logan, Leah, Linkin, Dru and Anniston and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Doug Garner, Stephen Welch, Jr. Trey Beall and Logan Welch.
