Elmo Daniel Scruggs

Elmo passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Tyler.

He was born on May 9, 1939 in Athens, to the late Gordon Wylie and Mildred Dorothy Martin Scruggs. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.

Elmo was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He served eight years in the National Guard and rode with the Patriot Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Myra Jean Scruggs, of Arp; daughter, Tammie Gary and her husband David, of Chapel Hill; two sons, Gordon Ray Scruggs and his wife, Tammy, of Tyler, and Daniel Lee Scruggs and his wife, Donna of Chandler; three sisters, Martha Christensen and her husband Gary, of Tyler, Linda Williams of Chapel Hill, and Peggy Morrison and her husband Rhamy, of Tyler; brother, Douglas Scruggs and his wife, Betty of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Nicole Gary, Cheyanne Solis, and Chase Scruggs; and two great-grandchildren.
