A private funeral service for Gene Theresa Cantrelle, 87, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2020 in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Necessary officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery #2, New Orleans, LA.
Gene passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 in Jacksonville.
She was born on January 31, 1933 in New Orleans, LA to the late Armogene Noah Cantrelle and Marie Helena Arceneaux. Gene was not only born in New Orleans but also spent most of her life there. She had many gifts, from being a fabulous host to a wonderful cook. She would serve all the N’awlins Style dishes and passed those awesome recipes on to her children and grandchildren. She loved her family with all her heart and was truly a faithful Catholic. She had a complete life, a loving family and friends, and the gift of faith. She will be sincerely missed.
Gene is survived by her sons Stephen Cantrelle and wife Juana and David Cantrelle; grandchildren Adam, Angel, Steve Noel and Francis; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Francis Cantrelle; son Renee Cantrelle; daughter Susan Cantrelle; granddaughter Faith Cantrelle; in-laws Maurice Cantrelle, Warren Cantrelle and Marie Cantrelle.
