

Services for Gilda Rae Cole Spraggins, 75, Tyler are scheduled for 1 pm Tuesday, January, 26, 2016 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Matt Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Spraggins went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, January 22, 2016.
She was born March 22, 1940 in Tyler to Gilbert and Catherine Chapman Cole. She was a part of the 1958 graduating class of Tyler High School and attended Tyler Commercial College. She was a former member of Marvin and Glenwood United Methodist Church and a current member of Whitehouse United Methodist Church. In the 1970's and 80's she was a cook for her younger sister's restaurant, The Shingle in Tyler. She was the office manager for her youngest daughter's dance studio, Cassie's School of Dance in Whitehouse for 20 years where she was known as Ms. Gilda. Not only did she keep up with all the studio's records, she was a motivator, comforter, listener and great storyteller.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 40 years, Fred Spraggins and her parents.
She is survived by her daughters; Debby Parsons of Alpine, Wyoming, Ginger Miller of Cypress and Cassie Schmidt and husband, Keith Schmidt of Whitehouse and son, Gil Spraggins of Amarillo. Other survivors include her sisters; Charlotte Ploesser and Sandy Brown and husband Reese Brown, all of Tyler; brother- in- law, David Spraggins of Frankston and sister-in-law, Paula Sandell of Clear Lake. Mrs. Spraggins is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Zachary Schmidt, Phil Parsons, Adam Parsons, Ryan Parsons, Adam Williams, David Ploesser, Keith Schmidt, and Karn Schmidt.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas or the Alzheimer's Alliance of NE Texas.
