Jerry Wayne Hobson, age 60, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 25, 1952 in Palestine, Texas to Burl Hobson Sr. and Natalie Hutto Lomax; they survive. Jerry was raised most of his childhood by his step-father George Lomax and mother Natalie Hutto Lomax in Waco, Texas. Jerry graduated from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. After college, he began his life long career selling banking software for Bankers Systems. After retirement, Jerry owned and operated Coushatta Iron and Metal just outside of Shreveport. Jerry had a passion for life and enjoyed every minute he was given. He loved riding his Harley, golfing and fishing, and playing racquetball. Those who knew Jerry will remember him as jokester but will always love him for just being a genuinely nice guy who truly cared for others. Jerry was also a member of the Elk's Lodge in Shreveport.
Jerry is also survived by two children, Heather Lingafelter of McKinney, and Paxton Hobson, and wife Abby, of Savannah, TX; grandchildren, Katie Lingafelter, Ty Hobson, Emery Hobson and Brinley Hobson; sisters, Tyanne Irwin and Lisa Tunstall; and one brother, Burl Hobson, Jr.
A memorial service for Jerry will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 21, 2013 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Paxton Hobson and Heather Lingafelter officiating.
