

John Thomas Beam, age 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17, 2012 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born on September 18, 1941, to Jean and Jesse Beam. John grew up in Whitehouse where he attended school before joining the USAF. He was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended Lake Tyler Baptist Church.
John was an ordained Baptist minister and served churches in Missouri and Oklahoma. Following retirement he enjoyed substitute teaching at the Whitehouse Schools. He loved the students and faculty.
Mr. Beam was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He is survived by his loving wife Judy. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 2, 2012. He also leaves two children behind to cherish his memory, daughter Kim Beam Frazier and husband Dannie and son, John Keith Beam of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Matt McMichael and Bethany Beam; two brothers, Charles and George Beam and one sister, Rebecca Smith.
He loved gardening and working on his mini-farm. It was his greatest pleasure to share knowledge of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren, and develop in them a love for the Lord. Visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home from 5 – 7 PM Friday evening. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning in Whitehouse Cemetery.
