Graveside services with military honors for Mark Curtis Osborne, Jr., 82, are scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Mr. Ron Bell officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler, Texas.
Mr. Osborne passed from this life on October 19, 2020. He was born on October 19, 1938 in Gunnison, Colorado to Mark Curtis Osborne, Sr. and Elizabeth Isabelle Miller Osborne. In his youth, Mark was an avid member of the Order of DeMolay for Boys and Civil Air Patrol. After leaving Denver North High School, Mark first answered his country’s call to service with the Colorado Air National Guard, followed by a transfer to active duty with the United States Air Force. As a Radio Operator, Radar and Fire Control Technician, as well as Computer Technician and Instructor, Mark served at home and abroad from Biloxi, Mississippi and Cheyenne Mountain to Germany and Japan until returning to civilian life in 1970 and settling in Houston, Texas with his wife, Ann and their children. While pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, Mark continued his service with the Texas Air National Guard until his retirement and enjoyed a 25 year career in accounting.
Mark spent many years as a member of the Masonic Order and the Shriners, acting as a Chapter Dad to the Order of DeMolay and as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. Always supportive as father and grandfather, his stories and guidance never failed to entertain and inspire. His love simply never failed and he will be missed terribly, but cherished always.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Ann Rogers Osborne; sister Annie Jean Osborne Griffin and her husband, Don; and granddaughter, Chloe Elisabeth Lindsey.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret Elizabeth Osborne and her husband, Craig, of Alexandria, Virginia; three sons, Don S. Findley of Plantersville, Texas; Mark C. Osborne, III of Houston, Texas; and Thomas L. Osborne and his wife, Tammy, of Cisco, Texas; a daughter, Lisa K. Voss and her husband, Calvin, of Rushsylvania, Ohio; grandchildren Martin, Michael, Katie, Kira, Jeremy, Georgia, Dustin, Amanda and Madeline; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as friends and colleagues he considered family.
