Roy Dale Golden

Dale was born on October 3, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Roy and Joann Golden. He spent his life devoted to his family and was known for his strength, love, and the steady presence he brought to those around him.

Dale dedicated much of his life to caring for others through his work as a registered nurse. He proudly served at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital for 30 years from 1991 to 2021, where he touched countless lives with compassion, kindness, and commitment. After leaving Mother Frances, Dale continued his nursing career at Texas Spine & Joint Hospital in Tyler from 2021 to 2023.

Dale truly loved his job and found purpose in helping others in any way he could, leaving a lasting impact on the patients and coworkers who were blessed to know him.

In addition to his medical career, Dale was a man of strong faith. He was an Ordained Minister and, alongside his beloved wife, spent many years serving as a singing evangelist, sharing the message of Christ through music and ministry. His life was one of service—to both God and others.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Lynn Golden. He leaves behind his children, Roy Dale Golden Jr., Stefan Golden-Gilmore, and Daniel Golden; his son-in-law, Shawn Gilmore; and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Golden. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn “Boo Boo” Anderson, and his father, Raymond Roy Golden.

Dale was a proud and loving Poppy to his granddaughters, Adri, Breeana, Hadley Kat, and Gracie Lynn, each of whom brought him tremendous joy. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Dale will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Joann Golden; his in-laws, OZ and June Walton; his paternal grandparents, Alvie and Idel Golden; and his maternal grandparents, Herbert & Kate Casey.

A funeral service honoring Dale’s life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation beforehand beginning at 12:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler, TX.
