Sue was born in Tyler, Texas on July 21, 1940 to Jerry and Thelma Nasits and grew up there with her sister, Nancy. She was a graduate of John Tyler High School. Her love of art and culture began early in her life and Sue went on to study art at Newcomb/Tulane University in New Orleans. She later graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago with a focus in commercial art. While there, she met her husband of 55 years, Larry Zimmerman, and began their grand adventures - traveling the world, cultivating lifelong friendships and beginning a family that held her as the compass.
After starting their lives together in Chicago, Sue and Larry lived in various locations throughout the U.S., including returning to Tyler where she was active in the Temple Beth El Sisterhood and Campfire Girls of America. After leaving Tyler they lived in Vienna,VA outside of Washington,D.C. where Sue worked for George Washington University in the Continuing Engineering Education Department. Their next 16 years were spent in California before ultimately coming back to Texas to be closer to family.
Sue and Larry have two sons, Scott and Jeff. Scott lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Mary and daughter Katherine. Jeff lives in Double Oak, TX with his wife Laura and daughter Morgan, and their son Sam attends SMU.
Sue Carole is proceeded in death by her parents Thelma and Jerry Nasits; her aunt, Pauline Miller; and aunt and uncle Jack and Anne Nasits. She is survived by her husband Larry; sons, Scott (Mary) and Jeff (Laura); grandchildren Katherine Hunt, Sam and Morgan Zimmerman; and her sister Nancy and husband, Ron Natinsky. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Leslie (Jeff) and many dear cousins, nephews and nieces.
