Bob was very mechanically inclined and fell in love with hot rods, motorcycles, and airplanes. Bob was a WWII veteran in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1946 as an aircraft mechanic of the P-51 Mustangs. Bob was a 60 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Bob was married to Doris Jean Ross, his wife of 68 years. Bob's love and hobby of restoring vintage aircraft continued through his life, even after he became legally blind in the mid 1970's. He was well known for reconstructing equipment quite uniquely to fit his needs or make it run. Bob was currently working on restoring a 1946 Aeronca Chief vintage post WWII airplane until losing the battle with diabetes and kidney failure. Bob also loved family time, camping, audio books and the Lord. He loved his children, grandsons, great-granddaughter, his friends, and his Lord. He adored his wife.
