

He was preceded in death by his mother Betha Ku.
He is Survived by his wife Janice Kauha, and their children Clayton and Nadine Kauha-Wallace. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Laurie Kauha, Granddaughter, Cheyenne Kauha, son-in-law Skip Wallace, and granddaughter Kora Wallace-Redinger. Also surviving Charles are siblings Raynette Kauha-Algoso and Solomon Kauha
Charles, also known as "Papa" or "Pops," served in the United States Air Force from April 24th 1961 to March 1st 1984. Following his service, he was employed by the US postal Service from 1985 to 2002. He was a prolific athlete who played football, baseball, basketball, and softball. He also enjoyed fishing and golf. He dearly loved his family, especially his wife. In his life he was very soft-spoken, but had a heart of gold and many stories with insightful advice, living up to his Hawaiian name "Kaikaai" or "strong waters".
A committal service for Charles will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:35 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio. The Family also encourages shorts, t-shirts, and floral attire for the memorial, as Charles had a deep appreciation for Hawaiian casual.
