Cynthia "Cindy" Louise (Metarko) Hodges of San Antonio, Texas was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on April 1, 2024 at age 67. She was born in Munich, Germany to William John and Dorthy Louise (Newman) Metarko on July 25, 1956. Cindy is survived by her sister (and best friend) Sharon Metarko, son Wayne Lee Hodges and his wife Leslie; daughter-in-law Liz and grandchildren: Taylor and William (Trey) W. Hodges III; nephews, John Leasman and his wife Sonia, Tasewell (Tas) Leasman and his wife Kristy and their children Katlyn and Justin Leasman; Brian(nephew) Breanna Escochea, Rya and Liam; Nicholas(nephew) Cheyenne Escochea, Carter Rose; and cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathy Leasman and the love of her life William "Wayne" Hodges Sr.
After high school, Cindy worked for Motorola for several years then she accepted an aircraft maintenance position with Lier Siegler on Randolph Air Force Base. After 30 years she moved to M1 Support Services to continue to work on aircraft. In 2018, she semi-retired to work part time at Rio Cibolo Ranch until 2020.
Cindy loved to travel, go shopping, play bingo, go bowling, be surrounded by dear friends at the V.F.W. Post 8315 and experience new eating establishments with her family. She frequently visited her favorite location Las Vegas to be surrounded by the big city lights and the sound of Elvis.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 6pm with a service at 7pm at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial services will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
