

Dana Patrick Steele, known to friends as Petey, age 76, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on January 23, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Henry Hugh Steele and Mary Elizabeth (Whitten) Steele.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlie Cook, son/grandson Dana (Katie) Patrick Steele III, stepsons, Eric (Lisa) Scott Iverson and Sean (Sarah) William Iverson, his grandsons Ethan, Jacob, Chase, Dylan and great-grandson Nils.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Hugh Steele, his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Whitten) Steele, his oldest son, Dana Patrick Steele, Jr., his brother Henry (Skeeter) Hugh Steele, Jr., and his sister-in-law, Lettie Steele.
Pat spent his younger years in Atlanta, Georgia. When he became of age, he met a gentleman by the name of Robert Ogelsby who was working for Castle Construction. He went to work for him as his assistant and found a passion for commercial construction. In the late 70’s he moved to San Antonio, Texas with Castle Construction and later worked for McDevitt and Street, Spaw Glass, and Koontz McCombs. His greatest accomplishments in construction were the addition of the upper level to the Auburn University Stadium, the above ground Olympic size pool at Palo Alto College, the Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union Headquarters and the Retama Racetrack.
As a young adult he loved motorcycles. As he became older and wiser he took up golf and fishing. He loved fishing more than anything and spent many weekends at the Texas coast fishing with friends and family.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Monday February 17th at 11:00 am. Following the funeral, there will be a light luncheon for anyone wishing to participate.
