Mrs. Darann W. Tetreault, daughter of the late Homer Sandford and Mary Lloyd Winnett, was born August 31, 1942 in Troy, Texas. She attended Troy public schools and was a graduate of Troy High School. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Troy Baptist Church. In recent years, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Universal City, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Women’s studies, and helped with the Hospitality Committee.
She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Francis H. Tetreault on September 15, 1958. They were married for sixty seven wonderful years. They traveled the world due to her husband’s military service and settled in Universal City, Texas. This union was blessed with two children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Darann was active in the Boy and Girl Scouts of America organizations and led many cub scouts and girl scouts to be the wonderful young men and women they are today. She volunteered at schools libraries, reading programs, GRASP, RACAP, Animal Shelter Thrift Store, and Meals on Wheels. She loved to garden, bake and do anything crafty. She often gave people vegetables from her garden, made Christmas ornaments for family and friends, and gave sweets “just because” to neighbors and friends. Her sweet spirit, kindness, love for Jesus and others was a beautiful testimony, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
