Diana Mary Vise passed away on December 2, 2011 after a long illness and the world lost a woman of beauty, grace and wit. Diana was born in Talara, Peru of British expatriate parents, and schooled in Peru and Canada. She relinquished her British passport when she became an American citizen but always retained her fluency in Spanish. Diana traveled widely over the course of her civil service career working at numerous U.S. Air Force Bases. She met and married her fighter pilot husband, CD Vise, at Randolph Air Force Base in 1975 and they returned to San Antonio after his retirement. During their 36 years together Diana and CD developed a passion for square dancing at which she proved to be remarkably talented and which led to many wonderful and lasting friendships. Diana’s compassionate nature made her a lifelong animal lover and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any animal charity. Diana was preceded in death by her parents George and Rosita Rooke. She is survived by her husband CD, daughter Alexis Montgomery and grandson Nicholas Montgomery-Brown of Austin, stepchildren Deanne, James and Gary Vise, and cousin Paul Ancel of Calgary, Canada. Services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, Universal City on December 7, 2011, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio. After the service friends and family will gather for a meal and remembrances at Pompeii Italian Grill, 16109 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio.
