Dorothea G. Rohl Beigel

Dorothea Gertrud Annemarie Beigel, age 73 of San Antonio was called home, peacefully surrounded by her family on July 29, 2011. She was a devoted Army wife and mother traveling the globe with her family, and settling in San Antonio. She was the center of our family, keeping us in touch with relatives near and far. Doris was an avid swimmer and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Spa each day. She was born July 25, 1938 to Johannes and Gertrud Dorothea (Lantowski) Röhl in Berlin, Germany. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Hans-Jurgen Röhl and Klaus Röhl. Left to cherish the memories of her caring heart are her husband, Daniel J. Beigel (Major U.S. Army. Ret); children, Dorothea L. Bowen and husband Scott, James A. Beigel and wife Deborah and Dan Beigel, Jr. and wife Stacy; grandchildren, Ryan Bowen and wife Jessica, Eric Bowen, Angela Bowen, Brianna Beigel, Nicholas Beigel, and Cosette Beigel; sisters, Christa Röhl, Barbel Stäbler and husband Manfred; brother, Peter Röhl and wife Susie, sister-in-law, Ingrid Röhl; numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
