Elena Ramirez

Elena Ramirez, age 93, of Universal City, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Elena was born in Zuehl, Texas on August 18th, 1931, to Francisco Gonzalez and Refugia Ramirez. Elena was always in the kitchen cooking up a nice warm meal. If you stopped by, you’d better be ready to indulge, even if you weren’t hungry. She was compassionate, caring, and deeply devoted to those she loved. Her heart was full of generosity, always putting others before herself and offering a listening ear, a comforting word, and unwavering support. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, arts and crafts, and playing bingo. Elena loved to travel and was always ready to go.

She is preceded in death by her father Francisco Gonzalez, mother Refugia Ramirez, and daughter Yolanda Ramirez.

Elena is survived by her ex-husband of 42 years, Marcos Ramirez II, son Marcos Ramirez III, daughters; Lydia Tijerina, Olga Chapa, Consuela Ramirez, Dolores Gonzalez, and Irma Ramirez, brothers; Gill Zuniga, Manuel Gonzalez, Raymond Gonzalez, and Martin Gonzalez, sisters; Elida Burciaga, Gloria Caranza, Consuelo Potter, Amelia Boeck, Esperanza Huey, Odelia Gutierrez, Blanca Hernandez, and Francis Frank, grandchildren; Melissa Chapa, Monika Thompson, Veronica Guevara, Caesar Gonzalez, Ricardo Guevara, Bryan Seals, Selena Agular, Marcos Ramirez IV, Julian Ramirez, Morgan Ramirez, Celeste Ramirez, and Mark Ramirez, great grandchildren, Alyssa Guevara, Aubriana Thompson, Michael Alvarez, Marissa Alvarez, Jacob Thompson III, Claire Ramirez, Eleanor Ramirez, Olivia Guevara, Javier Hernandez, Savannah Harriett, Colt Daniel Harriett, Theseus Harriett, and great great great grandchild, Camilla Guevara.

A visitation for Elena will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A rosary will occur Monday, March 31, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109. A committal will occur Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Archdiocese of San Antonio - Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
