1st Sgt. Elmer Lewis Young U.S. Army (Ret.) went to be with the Lord August 22, 2010 at the age of 77 in Windcrest, Texas. Elmer was born October 14, 1932 in Bernie, Missouri to Herbert and Nettie Young.
Survivors of Mr. Young include his loving wife of 58 years Frances Jean Young; son: Steven D. Young; grandchildren: Tracy D. Gutierrez, Robert L. Young and his fiancée Jamie Burchfield, John C. Young and his fiancée Dory Hilburne and Jarrod C. Young; and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James E. Young and his wife June, daughter-in-law Sylvia N. Young and daughter Jenny Baldezar.
He was preceded in death by his son James L Young and great granddaughter Elizabeth Gutierrez.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
