

Esteban D. Jugo Jr went home to our Lord on December 11, 2021. He was born in Manila, Philippines and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. In 1968, he was drafted into the U.S. Army for the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. In 1971, he transferred to the U.S. Air force, served 20 years, and retired in 1989. Thereafter, he served as a Security Officer at Gold Coast Hotel and Casino and later retired in 2010.
Esteban is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia M. Jugo; 2 sons: Jesse Jugo, Jeffrey Jugo (Rubyanne Jugo), and 1 daughter: Jennifer Watts (Gabriel Watts); 9 grandchildren: Aja Jugo, Jordan Jugo, Jesse Jugo Jr, Jru Jugo, Rayana Jugo, Jayda Jugo, Landon Watts, Logan Watts, Gwenevere Watts; 2 brothers: Ricardo Jugo, Anthony Jugo and 3 sisters: Luz Dapilmoto, Lucy Dion, and Lolly Gips. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esteban Jugo Sr. and Lualhati Jugo, and sister Felicitas Domingo Jugo.
Esteban was also known as Steve. He loved to bowl in his favorite Hawaiian shirts. He bowled 7 perfect score 300 games. Steve loved sports, working in the yard, and gardening. Steve was a wonderful husband, father, and the best grandfather. He had the biggest heart, very generous and was a super funny person.
We welcome you to wear Hawaiian print for the Memorial Service on Thursday, January 6, 2022 (Steve loved his Hawaiian shirts) and to wear white and blue (the Air Force colors) for the burial service on Friday, January 7, 2022.
A visitation followed by a rosary/memorial service for Esteban will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 beginning at 5:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas 78148. The Holy Rosary will be recited starting at 7 PM with live streaming via FaceBook Live. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 7, 2022 with live streaming starting at 10:15 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery Shelter #2, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209. There will be a reception to follow the graveside service to celebrate the life of Steve at VFW Post #4676, 202 W. Aviation Blvd, Universal City, Texas 78148.
