Helen was born to Emmet H. May and Lillian S. May of Monthalia, Texas. She spoke fondly of her friendship with her co-workers from her time working at Kmart. Helen also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center where she had many friends as well. While living in the Philippines, she passed her Lifeguard certification, even though she did not like getting water splashed in her face. The last few years, she would reminisce of her time working for the Phone Company shortly after graduating from high school.
Helen always had love and compassion in her heart for friends and family. She held especially close to her heart her “Grandpups” Marly and Murphy. Murphy was her at home companion during the day.
Helen is reunited in death with; her husband Leonard “Joe” Mahn, and brothers Charles G. Mahn and Emmett H May Jr.
She leaves behind to honor her memory; two sons Ronald Lee Mahn (Colleen) of Niceville, Florida, and Rodney Louis Mahn of New Braunfels, Texas, brother James May of Monthalia, Texas, sister Linda Pinner (Rick) of San Antonio, Grandchild Lauren Frances Kay Mahn of Niceville, Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews from both sides of her family.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Christa Santa Rosa New Braunfels and Hope Hospice and the American Cancer Society. They would also like to extend an invitation for food and fellowship at The Farm on 417 County Road 145 Cost, Texas 78614 following the remembrance services.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to Hope Hospice and the American Cancer Society.
Words of comfort and cherished memories may be shared with the family below in the “Add a Memory” section. We invite all who knew and loved Helen to join us in remembering the beautiful moments we shared and to celebrate the loving legacy she leaves behind.
