Iris was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 17, 1936, to Dexter and Mary Campbell Hagaman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard James Stricker; her parents, and her two siblings, John Daniel Hagaman and Alice Hagaman Nelson. Iris graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw and married Richard in 1955. She then supported her husband during his twenty-year career as a pilot in the United States Air Force and Richard’s subsequent career in banking.
Iris was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church of Universal City, Texas, where her devotion to her faith in Christ was an important part of her life. She is survived by her children, Mark Richard Stricker, Catherine Jo Stricker Muse, and Daniel Edward Stricker, as well as ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Committal Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209 (Shelter #3) at 2:30 PM on January 26, 2026. A reception will follow at the First Baptist Church, Universal City, TX 78148, Peace Auditorium from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
