Joe Ann graduated from Metairie High School in Louisiana. She worked as a secretary for the Southern Pacific Rail Road, and Republic Pictures. She retired from Northeast ISD after twenty years of dedicated service.
Joe Ann was married to John Ronald Evans. They celebrated 64 years of marriage in December. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe Ann was an avid Reader, Bunco player and enjoyed playing cards with the neighbors. She loved sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, Texas, where she volunteered.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Linda Marie Evans Risser. She is survived by husband John Ronald Evans, daughter, Deborah Arce and her husband Albert Arce, grandchildren Thomas Arce and Amanda Arce, and great-grandchildren Christopher and Colton Arce of San Antonio. She is also survived by brother-in-law, John Evans and his wife Judy Evans and brother in law Robert Evans of New Orleans, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Joe Ann will be at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas, 78148, Tuesday, July 26, 2021 at 6 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. An Interment Ceremony will be held in the Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78266. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow service.
