John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be remembered for his love of family and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Ewing; his son, David Ewing; and his daughter, Kathy Van Delden and her husband, Troy. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughters, Chloe Ewing, Olivia Ewing, and Vivian Van Delden, as well as his sister, Susan Wolfe.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made through donations to the Cancer Research Institute.
John’s memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on March 23, 2026, followed by a Funeral Service at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow from 2:00 pm to 2:20 pm. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
