Our Leader, Our Hero, Our Protector, Johnny Figueroa Castillo passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. His wife’s Nutty Buddy, Our children's Popo, and Our Loving Dad, left this earth to be with Our Heavenly Father. He was born July 22, 1952 in Austin, Texas. He brought his family to San Antonio, Texas when he joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 23. He retired in 1995 from the Air Force after 20 years of service. After his military retirement he was employed as a Department of Defense Civilian and recently retired last August, 2019.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lucia Castillo, and his daughter, Nicole, his sister Dora Cortez, and his brother Tony Castillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Celia Castillo, his children Erica (Arte) Vega, Tina Castillo, Regina (Ray) Sanchez, his grandchildren, Mercedes Nicole, Arte Joseph, Hannah Joy, Alexis Heaven, Erica Nicole, ZoeyAnna Marie, and Manolo Rey, his brother Pedro (Susie) Castillo, and his sister Victoria (Gilbert Sr.) Cabello.
He was the most generous man we knew. He always made sure we had what we needed and always spoiled us with what we wanted. We are so very proud of the service he gave to our country. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and spending time as a family. He loved his family with everything that was in him and we will always and forever love him.
The Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on June 18th 2020.
Visitation is at 11:00 am. We will be moving Dad from the funeral home to the church during this time. If you would like to join us and walk with us please arrive early. They are located next door to each other.
Memorial Service is at 3:00 pm. We will be streaming the service for those that are not able to attend. I will update that information as soon as I receive it.

We will be having a Committal Service at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetary on June 19th 2020. Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions they are only allowing 10 people to attend. This will be reserved for our family. However, after 4:30 pm that day, anyone will be able to visit his place of rest.
We cannot express in words how thankful we are for the kindness and generosity of everyone that has reached out to us during this difficult time. We are truly grateful to you all.
