Larry Mack Anderson, age of 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at his home in Universal City, Texas. Larry was surrounded by his family as his battle with Parkinson came to an end and he entered heaven.
He was born on April 29, 1949 in Cleburne, Texas to Georgia and Virgil Anderson. Larry was a graduate of Cleburne High School where he excelled in football and baseball. He married his wife, Dusty Anderson in 1969. After earning his associates degree, Larry joined the Texas Department of Public Safety. Larry was stationed with the DPS in San Antonio, TX. Larry spent 32 years serving the state of Texas. He started out working in the highway patrol before eventually being promoted to the special crimes division. Larry was well respected and loved by the men and women of the DPS.
Larry and Dusty stayed extremely busy in their children’s lives. Larry spent his time away from work coaching his kids in youth sports. Larry was a great role model and mentor for the many kids that were fortunate enough to play for him. Larry also enjoyed the simple life. He loved just being at home surrounded by his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He would occasionally fish or hunt, and even hit the golf course. After retiring from the DPS in 2001, Larry went on to work at the District Attorney’s office in San Antonio for ten years before retiring for a second time.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Virgil; survived by his mother, Georgia; wife, Dusty; his children Kenzie, Kallee, Polly and Guy (Tiffany); grandchildren, Mallory, Reese, Ryleigh, Jaci, and Kenneth. Family, friends and others whose lives Larry touched are invited to Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty
